Demolition in San Diego County
Interior strip-outs, kitchens and baths, flooring, ceilings, fences, walls, spas and small structures — torn out and hauled in one job.
Demolition is in the legal name — Go To Junk Crew & Demolition — and it's painted on the truck. Most demolition outfits want a whole structure to take down. We do the work that's too small for them and too big for you: the bathroom that has to come down to the studs, the patio cover rotting over the furniture, the hot tub nobody has filled in four years.
The part that matters is that we don't hand you a pile afterward. Tear-out and haul-away are the same job and the same quote — the crew that breaks it down loads it and sweeps the slab before leaving.

Thumbtack“Highly recommended. I needed someone who could take down a heavy rotted out patio cover and dispose of it, the 2 guys that showed up made very quick work of it and even swept up all the debris. Since then Ive done the easy part, stucco the holes and paint to match. I'll be using them again to remove an old jacuzzi.”

What This Covers
The specifics — what goes on the truck and what's handled as part of the job.
Interior Demolition
Full strip-outs back to the studs ahead of a remodel — walls, finishes, fixtures and built-ins, with the structure left clean for the trades that follow.

Thumbtack“Ariel and his team were fantastic. They were super efficient, thorough, and communicated well on any issues that came up. I used these guys twice on my job (so far) and would not hesitate to call them again. I highly recommend them to others in the community!”

Kitchen Demolition
Cabinets, counters, islands, backsplash, appliances and flooring pulled and removed so the new install can start on schedule.
Bathroom Demolition
Tubs, showers, surrounds, vanities, toilets, tile and subfloor. Tight rooms, heavy material, and everything carried out rather than dragged through the house.
Flooring Removal
Tile, hardwood, carpet and pad, laminate and vinyl pulled up and hauled — including the thinset and staples the next crew would otherwise inherit.

Thumbtack“Arrived promptly on scheduled day and even cleaned up my driveway after all the junk and old flooring was loaded. Highly recommend!”
- No large items to haul
- Mixed trash
- Enough to fill two pickup trucks
- There are no flights of stairs
Cabinet & Countertop Removal
Upper and lower runs, islands, built-in shelving, and stone, tile or laminate counters. Salvageable cabinetry set aside if you're reusing or donating it.
“Fast response. Called I'm the morning and they scheduled my job in that afternoon. The extracted several old cabinets from behind other stuff and removed them, as well as an old toilet, and ancient window treatments. Miscellaneous other items also went into pile and out of garage. They were efficient and friendly and fast. I'll call again for next project.”
Drywall Removal
Board and plaster taken down to the framing. Heavier per square foot than it looks, and priced accordingly.
Ceiling & Popcorn Ceiling Removal
Dropped ceilings, ceiling finishes and popcorn texture removed and bagged out. Older texture and flooring can contain material that needs specific handling — tell us the build year and we'll scope it properly before anything is disturbed.
Fireplace Demolition
Surrounds, hearths, mantels and masonry stacks broken out and removed.
Shed & Outbuilding Demolition
Wood and metal sheds, playhouses and small outbuildings dismantled and cleared — including whatever's been stored inside for the last decade.

Thumbtack“We worked with Empower Junk Removal to have 2 storage sheds removed from our yard. They were prompt in responding on the Thumbtack app, they were able to schedule us fairly quickly, their employees were clean and courteous and showed up within the agreed upon arrival window, and they were able to add on to our job (take more items) while onsite. The experience with Empower was great!”

What It Costs
Demolition is quoted on what's coming out, how hard it is to reach, and what the debris weighs — a hot tub in an open yard and one behind a locked side gate are different jobs. Every job is quoted free and with no obligation — we never quote a flat rate sight unseen, because the honest number depends on the job. Tear-out and haul-away are always quoted together, so there's never a second bill for the debris.
